Science Museum Field Trip

An early morning trip to the Science Museum proved to be very informative and useful, and who doesn’t like the Science Museum?!

We went to the second floor to look at the exhibit that shows the history of the computer and while were there, we found a display that explained the form of the Tetrahedron and the other polygons, which were the inspiration for the Crabtree series.

One of the first machines invented to randomly pick a series of numbers was used to chose the winning numbers for the first Premium Bonds draw.  ERNIE, Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment was developed in 1956 and was a further development of the technology used on the Colossus, the code breaking machine based at Bletchley Park used during the Second World War.
